Welcome to Deer Walks in the Dark, meeting online five Sundays, 3 to 5pm MT.  Going ‘on retreat’ at home is doubling down on our intention to hold sacred, creative space in the midst of our everyday routines. Can we rise to write in the pre-dawn hours, before morning birdsong? Or, can we close down all media connections and write before sleep? Either way, we are Deer Walking in the Dark, inviting our Dreambody to wield the pen. It is the Spirit Deer who glimmers in the dead of night, grazing on the mystical leaves of secret trees, calling us out.

We’ll take our writing cues from our own genius loci, feeding Her with the evergreen symbols of soul astrology, tarot, runes, i ching, flower essences, sacred geometry or numerology, whatever arcane language speaks to you. The first lunar cycle of 2025 begins on December 30th, at 10° Capricorn. The Aquarian New Moon follows, on January 29th. Our month of writing in the Dark breathes in and out with this deep, ancient cycling we carry in our bodies. We write from the Heart’s vibrant Shadow, where the Goddess of Transformation resides, awaiting your presence, and your practice.

Each week you’ll share an excerpt of your starlit writing. We’ll support one another with meaningful responses. We’ll explore our next prompt from the hidden realms. And we’ll honor, with our bodies, the power of the living Feminine where She dances—has always danced—with the lost Masculine.
