Standing at the crossroads,
trying to read the signs,
to tell me which way I should go,
to find the answer.
And all the time I know,
plant your love,
and let it grow.

“Let It Grow” – Eric Clapton

ABOUT

An unapologetic, contrary student of archetypal astrology since 1974, Cassandra’s 12-point perspective on Life, the Universe, and Everything relies on the language of metaphor, symbolism, myth, and stories. This languaging is sourced in the natural (more-than-human) world—Earth, Air, Fire, Water. It’s beneath our feet, in the stars, in the electro-magnetic fields that connect all intelligence.

Over the years, her studies included other arcane arts, as well as archetypal psychology, symbolic anthropology, and semantics. She supported herself in the book trade from New York to California. Later in life, she turned to the experiential world of travel, teaching, and facilitating workshops and Earth-based Ceremony.

Now enter the cosmic fray of this 21st century… grab a symbol, any symbol, or the opposite—a belief (goddess help us)—and let’s run with it, right through the Crossroads, to the edge. There are so many portals along the way! Portals to another way of being human. With Life, the Universe, and Everything. AYA!

Where are we Now?

Greetings from Silver City, New Mexico, which is directly opposite a point in the Indian Ocean, 600 miles west of Perth, Australia. Orienting ourselves on our irreplaceable Mother planet Earth is one of the first steps we can take to honor our relationship with all the life she generates. So, from Silver City, 6,000′ above sea level at the far south end of the Colorado plateau, hello to the Indian Ocean’s Perth Basin, 15,000′ deep. I wish I could swim.

But seriously. What’s opposite our place on the globe is just one example of a sense of place. I only raise the image on account of our currently super-charged ‘polarity dynamics.’ And actually, polarities don’t separate us, one from the other. Rather, they are true reflections, twins, of our necessary other half.

Where we stand on any issue, idea, or philosophy means little-to-nothing if we don’t first see where we stand amidst All our Relations. The Crossroads, as a symbolic placeholder for us to explore our connections with the Whole of Life, seems like a worthy place for us to gather ’round for discussion. A good yarning place, as Aboriginal scholar Tyson Yunkaporta might say. Or not…

My own orientation has always been to the Quest, the question, not the answer. I’ve been a scout, a storyteller, and in discovery mode all my life. So, if you’re open to some walking and talking, read on!
